Was born in 1946 in Moscow. After the graduation from the Moscow Institute of Architecture (1970) worked in the Office Mosproject-1.

1978-1981 studied at graduate school and till 1986 had achieved the Research group of urban environment design in Institute of Technical Aesthetics.

 1994 Exhibition "Moscow Architectural Avant-guard" in the Chicago Art Institute: curator and designer.

1995 Venice Biennale as an artist

Founder of independent design research group "Architectural laboratory" (1994) and project bureau "asse architects"(1997)

 

1999: Bureau was awarded a prize "Zolotoe sechenie" (literally - golden section)

 

1996-2006: a vice president of the Union of Moscow architects

 

2002: elected as a member of European Cultural Parliament

 

2004-2006: artistic director of the russian Pavilion on the Venice  Biennale of Architecture

 

Professor in MARCHI, architecture theory researcher, critic
